Thoughts / Suggestions for Next Year:
- Start earlier, with project. Have a mentor to help on the project.
- Have more time for fun & games!
- Plan a field trip for the project, once the topic is known.
- Have meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-5 PM, and Saturday afternoons, 1-4:30 PM.
- For the 2 weekends before the tournament, have meetings on both Saturdays and Sundays.
- Have one main project binder, and add to it every meeting.
- Have one programming binder, and keep the notes in one place.
- Have a robot design binder, and keep strategy discussion info. in there.
- Ask parents to sign up to provide technical assistance at Saturday meetings - at the direction of the team members - for posters, props, research, documentation.
- At the tournament: have one team member run through a pre-flight checklist for the robot (Tires on/good? All connections tight? Attachments in good condition?) and one for the tournament table (Everything in its proper place? Attached, or lined up, and all pieces where they belong?)
